Computer Sharp recently upgraded a jewelry store in Raritan, NJ 08869 to four new computers so that they could upgrade their Point Of Sale (POS) system.  These new computers were installed with the latest Windows 10 Operating System with one of the computers configured as a server for the Point of Sale application.

This new computers installation upgrade was completed using brand new HP small form factor desktops configured with at least 8 gigabytes of memory, 256 gigabytes solid state hard drives and Windows 10 Professional.  The jewelry store already had perfectly working flat-panel monitors, especially two that fit nicely as terminals.  The server and manager computer had slightly beefed up specs compared to the two front desk terminal computers.  The server was configured to back up the Point of Sale database files to the cloud which is best practices.

Computer Sharp also made an upgrade to their network by installing a 16-port Gigabit switch to optimize the transfer speed for the Point of Sale data between the terminals and server.  Prior to engaging Computer Sharp’s services, this client was using a legacy DOS application with the same Point of Sale company on Windows Vista computers.  Now they are using the latest technology which enables them to work better and take advantage of the latest offerings from the Point of Sale vendor.
